As schools reopen, some are offering hybrid models, and some provide the option of Face-to-Face or Online learning, according to the Department of Education’s Emergency Order NO. 2020-E0-06, all brick and mortar schools must open at least five days a week for all students. Orange County Public Schools provide the option to parents and teachers to choose Face-to-Face, Orange County Virtual, or Orange County Schools LaunchED@Home.

Orange County Public Schools Face-to-Face Model incorporates features of traditional Face-to-Face instruction. Still, it also includes changes that promote infection control and the safety of the students and teachers. Students can expect to wear face masks in the classroom unless a medical condition does not allow it. Students will be seated at least three to six feet apart, and nonessential furniture will be removed from the classroom.

Reopening schools with the proper safety precautions implemented will allow children who did not do well with the virtual learning environment during the Spring Semester to have access to an in-person environment conducive to their learning style. Also, in-person interaction allows the children to interact with their peers and develop social skills.
