Firm Presents to Hillsborough County Bar Association on Criminal Law and Healthcare

On February 10, 2021, Attorneys Rickey Strong and Of Counsel Michael Brown presented a webinar to the Hillsborough County Bar Association on Criminal Law and Healthcare. 

The webinar focused primarily on criminal background checks in health care. The attendees learned about the role of the Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA), the Department of Health (DOH), and the process for exemptions from the respective agencies.  The presentation included information on how a health care professional with a criminal background who is otherwise disqualified from employment can obtain an exemption from disqualification and return to work.

Attorney Strong has over ten years of health care law experience, and Attorney Brown has practiced criminal law for more than ten years. Utilizing their expertise, both attorneys discussed how a criminal conviction or plea could affect a client’s health care career.
